A little bit funny about The Spirit. I liked it, for sure, but something held me back from defending it with the zeal I wanted to have. I didn't realize the reviews were so, so, bad.
I thought the dialogue was supposed to be that way.
But it still felt a little funny.
Yes, it was obvious that Frank Miller paid close attention to what Rodriguez did with Sin City. But I didn't think about it too much.
I just had blind faith that it was good, and if it felt a little off, it had to be me. Just me. Legit bummed about this bomb.
Meanwhile, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button killed it, and for like the second time ever (first time about The Virgin Suicides), I'm going to say I liked the film better than the written version. The film was more enchanting. In the film, he loved her forever. In the story, they grew apart.
